Do you have a great idea for a
slogan for smellyourmum.com? If so, we want to hear from you -
remember, the ruder the better!!
A few rules:
1. DO NOT steal the idea from
another site! We cannot afford to get sued by someone. Any idea that
we contemplate using we do a search on first to check for copyright and
trademark infringement so, keep them original please.
2. If you send us an idea, we may
alter it slightly. Even the best ideas sometimes are even better if
tweaked, so bear that in mind.
3. If you send us an idea, we may
use it! Strange as it may seem, some people need that spelt out to
them. By submitting your idea, you are giving us permission to reproduce
it, make product from it and sell it. If you don't want to lose ownership
of the idea, don't send it in.
4. No, we don't pay you for your
idea. Why, you may ask??! Well, there are several reasons.
Firstly, we have plenty of ideas of our own - to-date, approximately 300 designs
- so, your ideas, although welcome and encouraged, are not needed.
Secondly, placing value on an idea is IMPOSSIBLE! There is no way of
knowing how many sales will be made of your idea. It might be 1, it might
be 1,000. Therefore, we cannot offer a one-off payment for your
idea. The best we can do is send you a freebie of it. Some have
suggested paying a royalty on a design. Sounds great but, who's going to
be the independent adjudicator?? Say you give us a design, we think it's
great, you think it's great but no-one else does and we don't sell ANY?
You wouldn't believe us, right? You would think we were trying to rip you
off. Well, that kind of hassle is not needed - we're busy enough!
So, even though it would be great to be able to do that, the trouble and effort
involved just isn't worth it.
Remember, smellyourmum.com is NOT
about scamming the "alternative" crowd out of as much cash as
possible. Makes me fucking sick when I see the mainstream companies doing
that. ANY and ALL profits that we make goes into making more product
(giving us one of the largest independent ranges in the world!), giving away
free stickers and flyers and putting our band, SPiT
LiKE THiS on the road. That's the only reason we do this - to
make cash to make the greatest band in the world even greater!!
So, if you don't agree with any
of the above, keep the idea to yourself. That's what I did and now I have
this cool site 'n' stuff. However, if you would like the glory of seeing
one of your designs on a t-shirt; the pleasure of knowing that you are offending
the majority; and the kudos of helping support a cool rock 'n' roll band, submit
your idea!
